I’ve been planning on starting a photoblog at some point or another… but it looks like Flickr has forced me to speed things up a bit by NIPSA-ing my account. In Flickr-speak, NIPSA stands for Not Included In Public Search Area… which basically means that anyone who searches for photos won’t encounter any of mine. It’s Flickr’s way of turning someone whose photos don’t conform with their TOS into social pariahs.
And Flickr doesn’t tell you that your account has been declared unfit for public consumption… you sort of have to figure it out on your own. I did when I noticed that I went from 40 photos in Explore to zero over the course of one day. Again without any heads up.
So all I have to say is watch this space for more. It’s pretty bare-bones right now.
Update: No news if my request to be removed from NIPSA has been granted yet.
To figure out if you’re NIPSA:
Just go to the general photo page:
And if you see (on the right hand corner):
“Hey! Are you wondering why your photos aren’t showing up here”
Then your work has been deemed somehow inappropriate for public consumption.

on February 27th, 2007Dude, welcome to the wonderful world of Word Press…
Good idea to have your own blog/photoblog. I don;t think I’ll be renewing my flickr account after it runs out in a month. I’ve got my own photoblog and yahoo can’t get their grubby fingers on it
